Baby’s First Visit

Most parents don’t bring their children to see their family dentist until they are two.  However, it is now recommended that babies been seen by their first birthday.

According to the AAPD, it is very important to keep primary (or “baby”) teeth in place until they are lost naturally. These primary teeth are important to maintain proper nutrition, promote speech development, retain space for permanent teeth and create a positive self- esteem.

Many parents also don’t realize the pain of dental cavities and how many days of school are missed from dental decay across the country.

If you begin taking your children to the dentist around the baby’s first birthday, they develop a positive outlook on the dental office.  We also believe our dentists Dr. Carissa Bruening, Dr. Graham Tinker, Dr. Andrew Breuning and Dr. Matt Slaven and our team at ActOn Dentistry also play a huge role in calming dental jitters.  We have a warm, welcome environment for all ages.  We love kids at our dental offices in Wentzville and West County and we like to see all members of the family at once.  The kids also love getting tokens after their appointment so they can buy their own toys from our toy machines in our waiting room. Call today and schedule your family’s first visit.
